The remaining amount will be used for additional disaster recovery needs, and we will share an update once further support is provided.

Over the past two weeks, our support reached more hundreds of affected people, providing urgently needed food, sleeping mats, blankets, clothes, hygiene items, and other essentials. We supported 11 monasteries with food, restoration of electricity and water supply, and other critical needs.
The situation is gradually returning to normal, and affected communities are now receiving support from many volunteers and government services. It has been inspiring to witness the unity and mutual care across the island. May we all rejoice in the good deeds done together, and may Sri Lanka be free from any further hardship and unrest.

Below is a detailed report of the support provided.
1. Relief Distribution for Villages near Chittaviveka Monastery
This relief campaign was organized by the monks of Chittaviveka Monastery—Bhante Vangisa, Bhante Samitha, Bhante Nirodha, Bhante Animitta, Bhante Abhayatissa, Bhante Asankhata—together with Chamara Sudesh and a dedicated group of volunteers, under the guidance of Bhante Gnanaseeha. Over six days, the team worked tirelessly to deliver food and basic necessities to hundreds of people in affected villages near the monastery.
On December 2, the team provided immediate relief to families displaced by landslides in the Udadumbara area. Approximately 500 people had lost their homes and were sheltering in a local school. Upon arrival, the team found that many evacuees had not eaten all day and were sleeping on bare concrete floors. They distributed food, essential products, and sleeping mats to ensure people did not have to sleep on the floor or cardboard. The total expenditure for the day was Rs 191,314.
On December 3, operations scaled up, and the team hired an additional vehicle to deliver more supplies to affected areas.
- In Bambara Bedda, where people were living in large groups per house (sometimes 35 people in one home), the team distributed 10 large mixed supply sets with a wide variety of quality food and essentials, along with 10 large bags of rice (26 kg) — one set and one rice bag per house.
- The team also revisited Udadumbara and delivered additional items requested by evacuees the day before, including toothpaste and toothbrushes.
- The team provided 65 food packs and 65 bags of rice (5 kg) to 65 families of Pitigoda village. This village was isolated due to landslides; with the road ending 7 km away, locals had to carry heavy bags of rice and supplies on foot. At that point, the villagers had received no prior help.
- In addition, the team distributed supplies across multiple locations, including 12 bags of onions, 15 medical kits, 100+ soap packs, and sanitary pads. They also provided aid to families in Hunnasgiriya and Moragahamula, to the Jethawanarama Monastery sheltering around 100 people, and distributed candies to children at the Tamil School.
The total expenditure for the day was Rs 725,305.
On December 4, the team split into two groups to cover more ground. One group delivered 50 essential supply sets to families in Gomaraya village, while the other brought food to a nearby nunnery sheltering 30 people. They also provided sleeping mats and blankets to Jethawanarama Monastery. In addition, they revisited the Udadumbara school to deliver more essentials such as mats, blankets, cooking gas, and food supplies. The total expenses for the day were Rs 391,352.
On December 5, the team returned to the monastery and the school and distributed sleeping mats, food supplies, cooking gas, and medicines. They also visited another monastery sheltering a large number of people, as well as Thenna Landa Primary School (sheltering 47 people), to donate food supplies.
On December 6, in collaboration with the Sri Praghna Pradiparamaya Monastery, they delivered vegetables, diapers, hygiene items, medicines, and household supplies to a school housing 26 people, including mothers with infants. Expenses totaled Rs 56,608.
On December 7, the team visited Nugethenna village to distribute 100 food packs (Rs 3872. each) to residents. They also purchased drinks for volunteers clearing landslide debris, cookies for children staying in the school shelter, and provided aid to residents of Wendaruwa village. Total expenses were Rs 402,200 for aid, plus Rs 166,600 for transport costs for the entire six-day period, and Rs 6,000 for Wendaruwa.
On December 13, Bhante Animitta organized a food distribution for 70 people affected by the disaster, costing Rs 19,650.
