Construction of the second floor of the danasala
Dear Friends,
Construction of the second floor of the danasala has begun at Cittaviveka Monastery, where it is planned to accommodate lay people who come to the monastery for practice.
At the moment, the supporting supports have already been erected.
The construction work is being carried out free of charge by the Sri Lankan Navy soldiers, which avoids the cost of paying for labour. However, it is necessary to provide them with all the necessary materials - without them, the construction will stop.
According to the current agreement, the soldiers will work for another month. The monastery is preparing a request to extend their stay, but there are no guarantees. In order to make the most of this time, funds are needed to purchase building materials.
Completion of the work will allow more people to practice at the monastery.
The estimated cost of constructing the walls is 1 million rupees (approximately $3,500).
It will require another 3 million rupees (approximately $10,500) to complete the project.
Any donation will be highly appreciated by the monastery.
